My understanding is that tea of the lowest grade, or too small to be sold as whole leaf, is what ends up in tea bags. I'm not saying the stuff you bought is garbage, I'm just wondering.

In the past few months I've really started to enjoy tea. Haven't gotten into loose lea brewing yet; just tea bags for now. It is true that the larger loose leaf variety are better quality, flavor, etc. Tea bags make a fine tea, though... more about convenience really.
